OMG

bounty
My honey called me this afternoon ... he was so excited he could hardly talk. I told him to take a breath & then tell me what was going on. Turns out he was refered for a new job. Just because you are refered doesn't mean you will actually get it ... it just means they will take your resume along with everyone else that they sent refere notices to & go through them to see if you are the right fit. Looks like they thing he is a good fit. Now I'm excited. Ya see, right now he has a GS7 job ... it's a government job ... the job he is going to is a GS9 ... we're super happy cause this is going to take some of the financial pressures off of us as this is a HUGE raise ... almost 10K ... that's before he hits his 1 year mark. Once he hits one year he will be getting another substantial raise. Honey was so happy he said baby ... I'm so sorry I stressed you out over thinking you might need to get a job. Not that I'm against getting a job but I'm very comfortable being a SAHM/teacher. I didn't want to have to og back into the work force ... not unless it's teaching aerobics again & well, I'm a lot out of shape for that job.
Don't know if I will be back before Thanksgiving cause I have a lot of things on my plate this week. So if I don't make it back I hope you all have many things to be thankful for. I know I sure do. Be safe ... don't eat to much ... have a very blessed holiday. Hugs!!!

Misc. Snags

Babbling about this & that!

The above tag was done for a contest, I didn't win but there were so many great ones I didn't expect to. Congrats to Bethe, Missie, & Cathy for their awesome entries. My kids helped me vote & they loved Bethe's the best out of all of them.
What a weekend we had ... Friday hubby had to work a different shift than usual but it worked out fine for the plans we made. We went to the high school football game ... they made it to the play offs. It was soooo flippin cold I didn't know if we were gonna make it through the game or not. We did though ... our team lost so that's it for them. The team they were playing against was very very good. Our team record was 9-3 while the visiting team record was 12-0. Anyway, after the game we took the kids to our church for 5th quarter. If you don't know what that is ... it's just where kids get together for food/games & a little worship. They kids had a blast!
Saturday we went shopping. My son decided he didn't want to keep his room anymore. Ya see, w hen we first moved in here he didn't think his room was big enough for him so we converted the garage into a bedroom/laundry room. It turned out great & son has been using it for close to 4 years now. Well, he decided it was just to big to keep clean & asked if he could have his old room back & us make his converted room into a game room or something. He really wanted a half pipe in there ... ummmm .... I don't think so. =D We decided we would make it into a media room ... we bought tons of wall art for the room. Of course we still need to paint it, clean it out completely ... buy furniture for it to. Hubby is looking into getting a projector for all the movies.
We took the kids to the drive in that night to see Twilight. My daughter has read the whole series & had let us know every day all day long when the movie was coming out in theaters. She was so excited ... I had read in her book that I would probably freak out when I saw the movie ... I didn't! I was one of the cleanest love stories I have ever seen. Now I'm curious about the book, what made her worry about me seeing it with her? BTW, the movie was very good if your into vampire movies (which I am). The other movie was kinda lame; The Haunting of Molly H ... never heard of it but when you go to the drive in a family of 4 pays $18 for 2 movies. The Haunting was the second movie.
Sunday morning we all got up for church ... daughter was a crabby patty. Don't know if it was because of the late night, she didn't sleep well, or she was just being a butt whole but she was just a nasty little thing to all of us. We dropped them off at Sunday school & warned her to mind her attitude. Hubby & I went for coffee (we don't do Sunday school). After coffee we stopped at my dad's/brothers for a few minutes. Hadn't seen dad in a couple of weeks ... he's becoming a hermit or something. He goes to work, he goes home, repeats this day in & day out. Thankfully he does call to let me know he's still alive. Anyway, while we were there we got to visit with my SIL's sister ... she's just a sweetie ... turns out she's getting a divorce. She came in from work one night & walked in on her hubby plowing someone else's field. Bad karma for him! She's barely 5 foot he's 6 foot ... she kicked his tail all over the place ... was arrested but then released. It's hard to imagine anyone being mean to her cause she is just such a lovely person. Maybe that's the problem for some people though, they have to be treated like crap to feel good about themselves. Anyway, now that he sees the divorce is gonna happen he's trying to get back with her ... maybe it's the fact that she is the sole provider ... he doesn't work, just goes out & parties all the time (with my brother). Now he's working at McDonald's cause he has nothing else to fall back on. Perfect reason why you shouldn't drop out of school. Even if you do ... in Alabama you have no excuse not to go get your GED cause they do it here for free. No registration fee to sigh up or anything. They provide the student with everything!!! Oh well ... some people I suppose would rather just be stupid. My oldest brother dropped out of school int he 8th grade ... he can barely read, barely write ... he won't go get his GED cause he says he is good with his hands so he can always make a living at building cabinets or catching fish on the boats. Great future for my nephews. Thank goodness my SIL has higher expectations for herself ... she's in law school, wants to be a lawyer.
Ok, enough of my babbling ... got a busy morning. Taking all out clutter from sons old room to the thrift store this morning. OMG, he had so much crap that it wouldn't even fit in his room. He has 3 different game systems, all the games for all the different machines plus movies out the yang ... clothes that hasn't fir him in forever shoved in the back of his closet ... you name it, we found it! What makes kids so nasty? My house isn't nasty so they don't get it from what they see around them but oh my goodness ... the filth we found was astonishing. YUK!
Have a great day ... stay warm!

Do you know Dana?

aka ... Heavenlybama@aol.com

Well, I knew she was having a hard time of things but I didn't know how hard until I got a letter from Den. Below is the letter;

This is Den again. Im going to delete this after sending. Dana's having such a hard time coping with her Dads sudden death. Her birhday lands on thankgiving this year. The family is not getting together this year because of the drama between Dana and her sisrer-in-law who stole her dad's paper work and someone else stole $300 from her even though she got it back within a couple days after his death. Could I please ask a favor of you? If you could flood her mail box with (e-mail) cards or birthday wishes I'm sure it will cheer her up some. I would appeciate it so much. TY

I'm asking everyone to please send her well wishes, birthday wishes, prayers etc. Dana is just a wonderful lady who deserves thebest. Thanks for reading & sending her special goodies.

Soul meets Soul

This is a tag that I made for a daily challenge in LilA's PSP group. The goal was to use the word art any way we chose. I'm a HUGE Elvis fan so I thought I would look for some kissing scenes and make them work with the word art. I like it!
Anyway, today is sort of a busy day. Teaching the kids this morning then when their done it's on to chores ... the house is in need of a good sweep/dusting. I have to do a little shopping, come home prepare dinner, then head to the high school for a football game. I know my kids don't go to the school but we do like to support the football team. They made it to the playoffs this year. Everyone around here is so very proud of them. Hopefully they will win tonight. After the game is over we'll take the kids to the church for 5th quarter. This is a fun time for kids to gather ... eat pizza ... load up on soda and make jokes. Don't have to pick them up until 11:30pm. Don't know what we'll do with our time cause don't know how long the game will take. Maybe we'll just crash at my brother's house for awhile. He lives right next to the church. It's always fun to wake him up and say hey turd ... wake up & talk to me. he he he I love pickin' on my baby brother. He's not so little any more though. He'll be 27 next month.
Ok, that's all for me. Gotta get the kids back on their school work.

Christmas Card Exchange

Photobucket

Every year I do a Christmas Card Exchange with all my online friends & I didn't want to stop the tradition just because AOL journals went under. A few of you have already sent me your e-mail but just in case the first entry was over looked I wanted to do a new entry on it.

The Christmas Card Exchange is really easy & a lot of fun. You e-mail me privately with your home mailing address ... I send you mine in return & we exchange Christmas cards this year. I DO NOT share your addresses with anyone else and as soon as I use them I shred the list. PLEASE ... do not leave your address in the comments section cause that's just to dangerous. If your interested in exchanging cards please send me an e-mail with your addy.

Prayers Needed

My grand mother has Cancer in her Neck,Breast, Hip Bones, Adrenal Glands, Spline & on her Lung. (10-Tumors)
She just took her first Radiation treatment yesterday, which made her very sick. Dr. told us that without Kemo & Radiation she would have 3- months to live. With Kemo & Radiation she has 6-Months to a Year, God makes miracles, myself and the family are looking for one. Keep her in you're prayers. Her name is Pauline.

Winter Snags

Is it cold where you are? It is here. I live in southern Alabama ... it's not supposed to be this cold. It feels like the end of August in New York. Now that's chilly! It doesn't feel much like fall ... we're already wearing our heavy winter coats when we go walking at night. That usually doesn't happen until the end of January. I think we're in for a rough winter. Guess it's time to order a cord of wood. So much for global warming ... I hear all over the US temps are hitting record lows.

All three tags are snag only please.

All tags we're made as part of the LilA PSP daily challenge. This is an awesome group of PSPers. If you think you might like to join, let me know ... I send you all the info you need to become a part of this fabulous group.

Real People - Real Blogs Award

Thank you Missie, from Missie's Upside Down World & ADM Designs for passing this wonderful blog award to me! Now, it's my turn to pass it along.

Here are the rules:
1. Please put the logo on your journal - Real People - Real Blogs.
2. Place a link from the person, from whom you received the award.
3. Nominate at least 7 if you can.
4. Put the links of those on your journal.
5. Leave a message on their journal to let them know.
6. Put the award on your sidebar/journal.

Now, as far as picking, it was very hard. However, there are some great blogs out there who tell it like it is. Don't sugar coat life, and those are the ones I'm going to nominate. Also, I did not nominate any private journals, because any new readers would not be able to visit those blogs.

1. Erica from Erica in Biloxi
2. Joyce from Tags and a Little Chatter
3. Linda from My Thoughtful Spot
4. Shelly from Did I Say That?
5. Melissa from Somewhere to Hide
My picks are in no special order. I have a whole bunch more I'd like to share, and so many deserve this award, but I must follow the rules and pass it on to only seven.

New Tags to Share AC

These are being marked AC for adult content. If you do not wish to view this type of material please exit this entry now. This entry was in no way meant to offend ... only express my creative talents.
This first one I made I just love. You hardly ever see tubes for dark skinned women that are worth using. I made this tag with my SIL in mind. =)

Some of you who frequented my AOL journal know ... I love Mandy. So here she is. The tag was a challenge from last week. We were to take a jeans scrap sheet & make something out of it. I decided to dress Mandy.
Hope you enjoy today's creations.

Peanut Festival Slideshow

I WON!!!!

OMG ... I woke up this morning only to find I won 1st place in the Show Me Whatcha Got contest in LilA's psp group. I was so shocked. I didn't even vote for my own cause I thought there were a couple better than mine. Nice surprise. Thank you to all who voted for mine!
Weekend went very nice, I'm still working on the slide show so I can show off the fun we had at the festival. It was so much fun but I think my body doesn't like rides anymore. I ended up having to close my eyes on all the rides because I would get extremly nauseus. I don't know why ... I've never really had this problem before. On one ride I realized I had to do something about my weight cause I almost wasn't able to ride it. First, it took me forever to figure out how to jump up backwards to get into the seat ... it was a bit tight but not to bad ... I thought I had to bar all the way closed, it felt fine to me but evedently there was a light above everyones head that let the operator know when it wasn't closed. I watched as he went around & told people they would have to exit the ride cause it wouldn't lock in. Well, I didn't think anything about it cause well those people were bigger than what I think I am. He come to me & I'm thinking WTH ... he pushes the bar down ... I'm losing my breath cause the sucker is so damned tight but I'm not about to say anything cause I don't want to admit that I'm to fat for the ride. I suck it up ... nearly breathless for 2 minutes. It was fun though!!!
Ok ... the itching hasn't subsided ... I'm slathered in calamine lotion from head to toe. I look like some pale looking person. Some of the bites are drying out while others are forming. It sux!!! My dad's g/f told me it could be scabbies. WTH is that? I didn't know so I looked it up ... it's horrible looking & NO ... I don't have it. I looked up flea bites & it looks sort of like the pics ... son thought maybe it was chicken pox since the neighbor just got over them. I looked that up & NOPE ... doesn't look like that either. So I guess I just have a lot of flea bites, deep fogging & spraying of the furnature this afternoon.
My little girl is growing up. =} The last couple of days she has been showering ... a lot ... she isn't one to shower so I figured something was up but I didn't want to pressure her. I have taught her that is she needs to talk about anything then she can. This morning she came up to me & says mommy ... I think TOM has come to visit me. YUP ... it has. I have talked to her about it since she was about 9 but for some reason it wasn't registering with her. She has been going through panties like crazy ... I finally showed her what she had to do. Poor thing ... she starts walking after she cleans herself up & says "man ... these things are really uncomfortable." I thought her eyes were gonna pop out of her head when I told her how long TOM visits. She says is there anyway to make it go away so I never have one again. he he he
So that's what's been going on in my world ... nothing super special, but we did have fun.

Thank you

Snag Only!!!
I just wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful advice. Unfortuneatly I can't take Zeus the the Vet's just yet because there aren't any openings for him. He is registered though so I'm half way there. I have to call the office on Wednesday to get him an appointment. Ya see I use the military vet because it's much cheaper on us plus they take care of all of our other babies. The way they run the office is by setting appointments for one week out that was it's less likely that someone won't be able to make an appointment. If you miss 3 appointments without calling to cancel that you are no longer able to use the facility.
Anyway, we just keep washing him with oatmeal shampoo but I'll be taking Indigo's advice this weekend. I have to go get the right kind of pumpkin. As for the scratching & me just getting itchy because Zeus is scratching ... very plausable cause if someone itches their head or brings up the words "maybe it's lice" I will itch for days even if I have been checked & I'm good to go. However, hubby thought the same thing until I lifted my shirt & showed him the evidence. I'm covered in bug bites. He went out and bought more anti-itch cream & calmine lotion. I haven't used the calamine lotion as I know I'll be out & about today ... I do not want people to see all the pink splotches all over me. he he he what a sight that would be. =D Oh, for future reference ... hubby told me to put clear fingernail polish over the bug bites cause this would cause the itch to stop & if the mites (if that's what it was) would be trapped & die. IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!! Not even a little bit. In fact I think I was itching more because once the polish dries it becomes scratchy. Not good!
So later today we're headed to the Peanut Festival ... I've got the camera charged and a sitter for Zeus. he he he Sounds so funny to have a sitter for him but not for the other 5 poochies. The fact is ... he can't climb our back steps yet & he can't push open the doggy door either. So dad & my baby brother have said they will take care of him for the day. I'm so glad. The thought of him being cooped up for 7-10 hours was just killing me.
Ok, I'm off ... gotta go have breakfast. Hubby made pancakes this morning. No wonder I can't seem to lose weight. He feeds me all the best foods ... and I don't need any of them. Last night he made a cake ... and yes, I had a slice of it too. Don't tempt me with yummy food ... cause I'll eat it! =D
Have a very blessed weekend ... stay warm if it's cold where you are.
